Safari London: Reviews & Ratings
Good atmosphere, excellent food and pleasant staff who remain calm and try to help even when it's extremely busy. An extra hand during busy times might be worthwhile considering even though admittedly this is unpredictable and an expensive fixed cost for a small business though so I personally understand waiting.....
Good size Ghanaian dishes. Tilapia and Fried Yam was yummy!! Also loved the Red Red. One main course can feed 2!!! Prize is ok
Freshly cooked well seasoned Ghanaian food. Did find the beans too spicy and the gizzard over-cooked however. On entering I was presented with a crumpled home printed menu which was hard to read especially as it was dark inside. The waitress then took me to the back and advised me to get the buffet for £20. There was a wide rage of stews, soup, rice, kelewele, yam, fish and meats.

The menu at Safari London is a celebration of West African staples. Dishes like Waakye and Chofi offer a rich blend of rice and beans, infused with spices that dance on the palate. The Fried Yam paired with Tilapia stands out as a personal favorite—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Fans of grilled delights will appreciate the Grilled Chicken Wings alongside fresh salads, elevated by the uniquely aromatic Suya Powder, which adds a smoky, spicy kick. The Mozzarella Sticks may be unexpected, but they provide a delightful fusion twist that softens the robust West African flavors.
Couscous here is not the usual side but a spiced, fragrant complement to the hearty mains. There’s also Gudeg, a subtly sweet and savory treat that adds depth and variety to the offerings. Portion sizes are generous—Maddy Ivory’s note that one main can feed two is a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to value and satisfaction.
Visiting Safari London feels like stepping into an auntie’s kitchen. The food is freshly cooked, well-seasoned, and intensely authentic, delivering both comfort and excitement across each dish. While some diners have noted the occasional hiccup with spice levels or service speed during busy times, these minor setbacks are outweighed by the genuine care and warmth embedded in the staff’s approach. The team remains calm and helpful under pressure, enhancing the overall experience.
For those seeking a flavorful journey through West African cuisine in London, Safari London offers a rich, heartfelt, and satisfying option. Its balance of taste, portion size, and welcoming environment makes it a must-visit for both new explorers and seasoned lovers of Ghanaian food.
